Fear, focus, and the future. Here, C.M. Humphries writes about whatever.
WORDSAnother day, another failure. My goal was 2,333 words per day, but I am finding out a full work day plus an hour commute really drains a fella plus it cuts into writing time. However, I am fairly confident I'll be able to more than catch up over the weekend. Still, that's 345 more words than yesterday. And honestly, I think I might be able to squeeze in another half-hour or so of writing before I call it an evening. There'll be an update if I add more words to the count. (Speaking of time, I'm not exactly sure how 750words calculates everything. By my calculations, I spent around 1:15:andsomechange writing, if not 90 minutes between writing and staring at the screen. Perhaps 44 minutes is more precise. I try to avoid math when writing.) The following graph basically just shows you when my brain caught on fire today. Surely I can type much faster, but consider the fact I am constructing a fictional story in the process of typing it all down. THE NAUGHTY STUFFThe first rating is from yesterday's writing session. It's a family-friendly PG rating, which means I didn't try hard enough. Today I bumped it up a notch apparently. Interesting fact: There is no sexual content in the first two parts of "Lovefall" I wrote between yesterday and today. I presume that is a standardized warning underneath the rating. TOMORROW (OR RELATIVELY SOONISH): THE FEELSI think in the next blog entry I'm going to change things up a bit, and rather than focus on the word count, I'm going to get more into mood and meaning of some of my word choices, according to 750words. It's kind of a fun thing to consider, whether you look at it from the point of the story or from the weathered shoes of the author. YOU MIGHT ALSO ENJOYLeave a Reply. |
