Fear, focus, and the future. Here, C.M. Humphries writes about whatever.
![]() By large, I'm a traditional writer in the sense that I prefer my work to mature in the form of a book, short story, etc. From time to time, I've done work in film, radio, and music. However, I want to add something new to the list: a cartoon. For the most part, there seems to be nothing wrong with exploring all the different forms writing can take other than what's literal. I've probably said this before, but I believe, in the end, the story is what matters. With that said, I'm thinking about writing a cartoon with the aid of some buddies. This project is a long time from fruition, but I figure if I post about it now, I'll be pressured into learning more on animation and making this thing move along. To start things off, you always need an idea. So I could use a little help. Keeping reading for my plot concept, and let me know what you think. Also, let me know if you think it would be better than to take a serious plot-line and add ridiculous character interactions, or if it should just be goofy. (At this point I don't have the skill to make a series animation piece come to life.) Loose Plot Idea![]() The concept is about a band called Thyck Skyn during their first taste of glory - all fifteen minutes of it. The quest is to cement their legacy in rock n' roll history, and it all relies on one big show in Indianapolis. But due to a detrimental booking oversight, the band shows up at small nowhere town in Indiana, to find out they're hours away from Indy, and this sold-out-crowd . . . well, it only consists of a few hundred fans. After the big bust and all the bad P.R. the band and its team fall off the radar and are dropped from the label. All of them fired, the gang has to find away to generate some cash and get the hell out of Indiana, only ties they never knew they had come to light and keep them back. Despite all this, they never lose their thirst for music and notoriety. This music-themed idea would work sense I do have the availability or writing and recording original tracks and a little experience in terms of gear, playing, and gigging. Admittedly, I do intend on taking a lot of liberties with the stereotypical rockstar image. General Cast IdeaIn this show, there would definitely need to be some primary characters:
